MIRORES develops an innovative far-infrared spectrometer for UAV-based remote detection of sulfide and oxide ores, offering prospecting services for both Earth and planetary environments. Its unique 20–35 μm range enables mapping of mineral deposits in arid and polar regions on Earth, as well as on the Moon and Mars, where atmospheric water does not obstruct the signal. Alongside core UAV mapping, MIRORES provides laboratory analytics, geological modelling, and consulting services, supporting sustainable resource exploration and the emerging space mining sector.

Innovative Resource Detection

MIRORES develops an innovative far-infrared (far-IR) spectrometer for UAV-based remote detection of sulfide and oxide ores, offering prospecting services for both Earth and space environments. The instrument operates in the 20–35 μm range, which has not been used before for remote prospection due to atmospheric water interference on Earth, making it particularly suitable for Lunar and Martian exploration as well as arid and polar regions on our planet. The service combines UAV mapping with laboratory spectroscopy, geological modelling, and advanced data analytics, allowing mining companies, consultancies, and space exploration developers to identify new resource deposits, monitor open-pit operations, and explore sustainable and low-carbon prospection solutions.

Driving Sustainable Mining and Space Innovation

By providing high-resolution spectral data in a previously untapped range, MIRORES opens new opportunities for both terrestrial and extraterrestrial resource exploration. On Earth, it supports the discovery of critical minerals such as iron, copper, rare earth elements, and platinum-group metals, particularly in areas affected by glacier recession and climate change. For space applications, MIRORES enables mapping of Lunar ilmenite and troilite deposits, contributing to the potential production of oxygen, metals, and clean energy resources like helium-3. Through its integrated services and consulting, the project not only enhances sustainable resource management but also bridges the gap between Earth-based mining industries and the emerging space resources sector.
