Contract for the organisation of the IAC 2027 International Astronautical Congress in Poland signed.

Paris, 2 April 2025. – In the French capital, at the headquarters of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), the contract for the organisation of the 78th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), to be held in Poznan in 2027, was officially concluded. In the presence of 300 delegates from around the world, the agreement was signed by Clay Mowry, president of the IAF Federation, and Lukasz Wilczynski, president of the European Space Foundation.

This prestigious event returns to Poland after more than 60 years, which is a huge success for the Polish space sector and an opportunity to promote the country on the international arena. IAC is the most important event of the world space industry, annually attracting thousands of experts, scientists, business leaders and representatives of all space agencies. The Congress in Poznan will be an excellent opportunity to present the achievements of Poland and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the area of space technology, scientific research and innovation.

‘The signing of the agreement is the culmination of almost two years of efforts by many individuals and entities to organise the IAC in Poland. It is also a confirmation of our readiness to take on this unique challenge,’ – said Łukasz Wilczyński, President of the European Space Foundation and Executive Head of the IAC 2027 Organising Committee.

The main organiser of the congress is the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). On the Polish side, the project is implemented jointly by the Ministry of Development and Technology, the European Space Foundation (Host Organisation), the Polish Space Agency, the City of Poznań, the MTP Group and the Poznan Congress Centre, the Poznań Convention Bureau and THE WAY (producer of the Impact event). With the support of LOT Polish Airlines.

The theme of the congress will be ‘One Space. Shared Future’. – The first part of this slogan – ‘One Space’ – is meant to remind us that space is a common space for all people, beyond divisions, and the Astronautical Congress is a place whose domain is cooperation and catalysing dialogue, which is particularly important for Poland in the current geopolitical situation,’ adds Wilczyński.
