Civil Security Hub Poland translates innovative solutions based on satellite technologies into applications for rescue services, civil protection and crisis management. It is the first entity of its kind in Europe to be part of a new initiative by the European Space Agency (ESA) called Space Resilience Nodes.

The aim of the European Space Agency’s European Resilience from Space (ERS) programme, which includes the Space Resilience Nodes (SRNs) initiative, is to enable European countries to respond more effectively to crises using space technologies (in particular satellite Earth observation, navigation and communications). This is a response to current challenges in the area of public safety and the noticeable increase in the number of natural disasters due to climate change. During the ESA Ministerial Council in November 2025, Poland emphasised the key role of Europe’s resilience, security and strategic autonomy in space, confirming in this context its particular commitment to the ERS programme and the priority nature of security and crisis management issues.
Civil Security Hub Poland is a modern approach to civil protection that provides real support for the safety of citizens in every region of the country and distinguishes Poland on a European scale in terms of the practical use of space potential. Rapid access to data from satellite technologies for rescue, civil protection and crisis management means a more effective response to threats such as floods or fires.
The European Space Foundation provides business and communication support in disseminating the results of CS Hub PL projects to ensure their wider use and raise awareness among key target groups of the potential of satellite technologies in the field of civil security.
